Last Friday my computer mailbox caught a bad case of schizophrenia - a number of email possible terrorism alerts came (and went after repeated message recalls).
This is not meant to demean the efforts of the international and domestic community to address those humorless diabolical lot of fanatical types who embrace terrorist activity.
The world is not a safe place, but stepping back - is hasn't really been so since the time of the cavemen running around trying to avoid being stomped out of existence by overgrown dinosaurs.
Fear is everywhere.
No the news becomes a tangled web of yes, no or maybe whether the individual plotters have been captured or are more lurking the corners of the Kingdom.
It's the early days of 2012 and Thailand is back in the news with travel alerts - and a dj vu moment.
There remains little doubt that while the majority of people do read these messages from their government and then go about their lives as usual that some others panic, over react and cry wolf.
The nature of the word WARNING by definition is "a statement or event that indicates a possible or impending danger, problem, or other unpleasant situation." Taking a rational look this pretty much covers every waking or sleeping moment of a person's life. Danger is everywhere. Around every corner.
Event frantic tweets could barely work keep up with warning for every possible danger encountered in a person's life. This could include bad meals, bad haircut and certainly poor choices of spouses, lovers, and business partners.
I've moved all those warning to my trash file. It's not that I'm ungrateful to those protecting us, it's just I need to be able to get out of bed every day and get on with my life.
