According to a report by leading authorities IATA and PATA New Delhi's Gandhi International Airport has the highest airport charges in the world.

A recent increase of 346% have created an outcry for the tourism sector who say that the direct impact on passenger fares will be a strong negative on demand.

While India outbound travel continues to be touted as one of this generations leading travel trends, the jury remains out if the current numbers are stacking up.
