Thursday evening's blackout of the control tower at Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok has created a stir amongst the transportation sector.
With the displacemet of nearly 50 flights the power disruption to both the main and back-up power supply and affected the radar system lasted nearly a full hour.
In-coming flights were either diverted or planes returned to their points of departure. For those passengers leaving Bangkok, long delays and cancellations ensured.
Survanabhumi is currently undergoing maintenance and one runway is closed for 60 days.
