TOURISM MARKETING 101 Third-Age Tourism

Forget the new age quandary of I'm ok , are you ok? Just wait for me to pick up my yoga mat, find some vegan food and check my chakra. Or of course the Middle Age(s) which saw the crusaders traipsing around, more than a few varieties of religious concepts and a very short life span.

Today people are living long, planes going to and fro as we know with 'everyone can fly'. Overanxious advertising executives share a common mantra which is the need to identify even the minutest set of footprints into a market segment.

Yes we have third-age tourism, which basically a nice word for old folk or perhaps the more appropriate 'senior' category of travelers on the go.

Viewing projections for global aging the market is set to continue to grow in leaps and bounds and often times we also have a merging of the tribes which lends itself to the term - 'multi-generational travel'.

For the west who needs a phase this isn't exactly big news say for the Chinese who have been traveling with mom and dad, kids, grandpa's and grandma's for decades.

Perhaps things were easier in the 50's when hipsters could coin phases like 'rat pack'.
