Talking to hotel executives and tour operators one of the ongoing highest areas of visitor complaints is the lack of language skills by Thai hospitality workers.

Viewing comments from the President of Disney Publishing Worldwide in The Financial Times who was quoted that " Disney operating language schools in China are expected to grow from 11 to 148 within five years."

As Disney is ramping up for a new theme park in Shanghai which will debut in four short years, adding "teaching English" to 150,000 children by 2015."

While certainly there is an altruistic element to the exercise, the brands expansion in films, merchandising and online media are natural side effects in the mother of all consumer markets.

While there is no free lunch in this world, certainly the tourism sector is set to benefit in what could add up to a win win proposal for this private and public sector cooperation.
