The Tourism Council of Thailand is has re-forecasted 2011 numbers, with expectations in the range of 16.76 to 17.21 million.
A growth factor of 5 to 8% is expected over last year, when the total hit 15.5 million despite a high profile political crisis.
Risk factors at present include fallout from the Japanese tsunami and nuclear issue and sharp rises in oil prices.
