Sitting in my hotel room in Shanghai after navigating a chocker block Thai Airways 747 flight from Bangkok I can hear traffic rising from the street above.
Suchat Sritama wrote in The Nation that the TAT (Tourism Authority of Thailand) has said China will shortly become the largest source market for the country.
Close to one million Mainland Chinese travelled to the country in 2010 and the magic seven digit number will be eclipsed this year.
The article goes on to say the East Asian Top 5 by midstream 2011 were China, Korea, Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
While scuttle in the soi's of Phuket often turns to the subject of mass tourism, the numbers continue to mount and the future clearly indicates China and Thailand are going to be close bedfellows for years to come.
