TECH BUZZ WORDS The Great Firewall
The Great Firewall is a common term for controversial Golden Shield Project initiated in 1998 in the PRC (Mainland China). A function for central Government censorship it's a network firewall targeting the use of proxy servers and limits the use of IP addresses from using these to gain access to a global world wide audience.
Recently internet giant Google has created a worldwide wave of controversy as it has threatened to stop operations in the PRC due to continued censorship and alleged hacking into intellectual property and user data.
