A battle is brewing in the ongoing saga of a joint venture between Thai Airways International and Singapore's Tiger Airways.
The tiger tale took a rather bizarre twist as Thai International then announced plans for yet another low-cost carrier called Thai Wings.
Now a public debate has ensued between the airline and Thailand's Department of Civil Aviation over whether government approval is required.
As a layperson comparing strategies between the two intended carriers, the term 'same-same' comes to mind.
Expect a very public airing of the issue over the next few months, though a time out might be coming with July elections.
