Good news for the destination resort island of Koh Samui, as Singapore's Silk Air has announced direct flights.
Service will be scheduled three times a week on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday.
An Airbus A319 will be used on the route by the Singapore Airlines affiliate SilkAir.
A codeshare agreement with Silk Air and Bangkok Airways on the latter's service which will facilitate connecting flights.
While low cost carriers continue to be absent from the Samui market, the new move will aid in providing needed airlift in to cope with the growing number of hotel rooms.
