With Bali (and Phuket) overflowing with tourists the development of outlaying islands continues to be a hot topic.

For Bali, there is keen interest in Lombok, Sumba, Flores and Sumbawa. Throw in the three Gili Island's for good measure.

Making headlines recently was news that Indonesia carrier Merpati is looking to acquire 20 seaplanes for regular service. The aircraft are reported to be Canadian Dornier's.

As we always say for tourism destinations "you can't stay there, unless you can get there". For Greater Bali the time may be near when getting to more places becomes significantly easier.
