I'm in South East Asia's boomtown and am being held hostage.

Strains of Hotel California fill my head, with those lines 'you can check in, but never leave."

Massive flooding has hit the city of Jakarta, a State of Emergency is in place. While I was set to leave today, a tortured four-hour car trip ended exactly back where it began.

While my hotel is only 400 meters away from the Grand Hyatt, floodwaters are high and the only way there would be waiting up to my chest in muck or else a boat.

Strangely enough a boat just passed me, going in the opposite direction, with a load of people on it, along with a few pets and the howling of a duck.

Do ducks howl? Damn right they do.

I'm still considering making a run to the Hyatt, if only we can find the oars.

Tomorrow is another day and my plans include a hotel break and head to the airport early.

Fingers cross and if not, a call to a man named Noah might be in order.
