For many the ongoing controversy over the high price of airport taxis and the tuk tuk mafia remain ongoing issues for the island. On comes ex Monty Python member John Cleese who according to TV2 in Norway is going to pay approximately THB 160,000 for a taxi ride from Oslo to London.
Cleese has been stranded in the Scandinavian country after a recent show and due to the continued closure of Europe's airport and no space on trains has elected to hire a taxi instead. On a trip which is expected to take 15 hours and pass through 5 countries, it will finally wrap up with a two hour train ride on the Eurostar.
The current woes of travelers stuck in Europe look set to make the 'red shirts' recent hotel great escape look like a walk in the park as people across the continent look to tap into every available mode of transport just to get back home.

Bill Barnett responds:
Definately not short of news, is a big week ahead, just a bit of human interest, and hey as they say you can't please all the people all of the time, but yes thanks for trying to keep us on our appointed journey.
Bill Barnett responds:
Ah read the entire article, it was from Norway to London. You can still get from Phuket's airport to Surin for far less then THB 160,000.
