Reading the Phuket Gazette's recent new on direct charter flights between Tehran and Phuket starting in mid March it's a bit ironic that a country George Bush accused of harboring weapons of mass destruction (WMD) is now embracing mass tourism.
Thankfully George is now gone and Iran despite somewhat of a controversial political agenda is home to one of the region's largest potential outbound markets.
Quoting the report which says flights via a Mahan Air 747 will operate 3 times a month. The TAT (Tourism Authority of Thailand) Director from Dubai has pinpointed Iran as the fastest growing Middle East country for the Kingdom registering over 100,000 visitors last year.
