The 150 rai Mai Khao development of the new Phuket Convention Center is forging ahead. According to published reports the Thai Deputy Finance Minister a budget of THB 3,740 billion has been set aside for the project.

With construction bidding set to be completed within this year, work is expected to start in 2010 and be completed in 2012. The Government is expected the facility to generate over 2 million visitors annually.

Housing 4 exhibition buildings and a four star hotel with 350 rooms, over 1000 cars and buses can be accommodated in the large parking area.
