Plans for a large international convention and exhibition centre in Patong look to be moving forward.
Located as part the 78 rai Fisherman Harbour mixed use project, it includes six internationally branded hotels and two residential condominiums.
Two Sheraton management deals for a Four Points and Aloft have been inked already.
It's understood developer Wittaya Thaweewongsap is having discussions with Bangkok based Impact Exhibition Management on the convention centre.
The later is best known the high profile Impact Arena in the nation's capital.
So the battle is on between a private sector project in Patong and the government initiated international convention centre in Mai Khao.
