A sigh of relief has been collectively heard across Phuket as the National Disaster Warning Center have cancelled the Tsunami Alert for the island. Other news outlets such as CNN have reported that elsewhere alerts have been cancelled as well. A 7.6 magnitude earthquake was experienced near Padang Western Sumatra late this afternoon.

After tragic floods in The Philippines, a tsunami in Samoa which has left scores dead and now flooding in central Vietnam the entire region is reeling with the forces of nature.
