Media report are coming in that 'red shirt' protestors are being transported back to their homes in increasing numbers, and that the majority of leaders have either turned themselves in, or been arrested.

The CRES (Centre for the Resolution of Emergency Situation) has extended the curfew from Thursday to Saturday during the night time hours of 9 pm to 5 am in Bangkok and 23 provinces.

Both the BTS Skytrain and MRT have announced they will remain closed on Friday May 21st.

The SET (Stock Exchange of Thailand) will remain shut and a public holiday for the city has been called.

Local news is reporting that banks and other commercial businesses have been given the green light to re-open on Saturday onwards.

To date there has been no violence or disruption of services reported in Phuket or the other southern Thai resort destinations including Krabi, Khao Lak, Koh Samui, Hua Hin and Pranburi.
