Everyone loves a road trip and the recent blaze of interest in Myanmar's tourism and business potential has sprouted wheels rather than wings.
Last year travelers visiting the country overland tallied 425,193 versus 364,743 visitor arrivals at Yangon International Airport. Thailand of course is the logical point of entry for road trippers.
Certainly the trend will reverse as air service ramps up in the country, which saw 816,369 arrivals in 2011.
One million looks to be the next major marker in the country's journey back to the mainstream.
