LAGUNA PHUKET LATITUDE New MICE Venue For Destination Resort

As regional economies are growing and long haul recovery is moving ahead the important MICE (meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions) market is showing signs of life. Laguna Phuket with its considerable critical mass of hotels has created a new venue named Latitude to capture market share in the segment.

The new facility will hold 1,000 guests in conference style seating, 800 in a cocktail reception and 600 for banquets including the growing wedding market. The 1500 square meter structure will be open by mid- year and has already been attracting function inquiries.

While the long delayed Phuket Convention Center remains mired in controversy over the recent budget scandal, the private sector is now taking actions into their own hands to catch the MICE dollar on the upswing.
