Bang Sak beach in Khao Lak is all the buzz as set work has started for the upcoming Hollywood movie 'The Impossible.'
With a script by Sergio Sanchez and Director Juan Antonio Bayona leading the way, the epic finds its roots in a true story during the 2004 Asian tsunami.
Set to hit Khao Lak's beaches include stars Ewan McGregor who is best known for his roles in Trainspotting and Star Wars - Attack of the Clones. Add in actress Naomi Watts who was nominated for an Academy Award for the film 21 Grams.
A recent site visit to Bang Sak by thephuketinsider.com saw excited local residents humming about the activity and some preliminary set work underway.
The film has been filming in Spain and will move locations to Greater Phuket over the next month or so. A release date of 2011 has been reported.
