The Thai government is continuing its transportation initiative for a high-speed rail link between Chiang Mai and Bangkok. Media reports say that a feasibility study will be undertaken
Under a joint Thai and China cooperation and technology being supplied by the latter, train speeds are expected to reach 300 kilometers per hour.
It's still early days in the project formation and the timeline would take up to six years to bring the train into service.
