I'm sitting in the budget terminal in Kuala Lumpur waiting for my flight to Jakarta.

Having a few hours between flights I quickly check out the Wi-Fi connection.

Bingo! It's a strong fast signal and it's free.

This is Malaysia, and not a world away from Thailand.

Phuket's airport continues to stun travelers like a blunt hit on the head by its choice to remain in the dark ages of travel.

Nostalgia is great for movies, wine and an old photo, but please getting connected these days is on the top of everyone's travel list.

In a country that heavily relies on tourism, making travel sane and pleasant isn't too much to ask? Or is it.

Assuming Thailand still HAS 3G in another month or two. I'm writing about that for the Gazette this coming Saturday. It's a complete mess - corruption, infighting, political patronage, and on and on.
