Direct India Phuket Flights Starting March

Thai Airways affiliate Thai Smile will commence direct flights from Phuket to New Delhi and Mumbai from March 31st.

Flights to/from New Delhi will open on Tuesday and Friday, while Mumbai will be Monday and Thursday.

Last year over 22,000 international passengers from India arrived at Phuket International Airport which was down from the previous years 25,000. The actual figure of Indian tourists to the island is much greater given most transit through Bangkok.

On a Thailand basis, over 1 million Indian visitors were recorded in 2012 which was 4.5% of the total market.
