Two of the island's leading food and/or beverage outlets have closed down in recent weeks. At Patong's Burasari Resort the namesake outlet Floyd's Brasserie wound down on September 5. Noted celebrity Chef Keith Floyd passed away just over a year ago.

While in Surin Beach leading wine expert Steven Roberto closed Envision Wine Bar after selling his successful business to the 4th largest importers of wine in Thailand Ambrose Wine Ltd.

Steven will be staying on with the new group to source product and work with the growing wholesale business, though the cozy wine bar bearing the Envision name will no longer be open.
