Despite threatening weather on Thursday May 28th the initiative for beach cleaning and other public areas by the hotel, property and service industry got significant participation and was an overall success. A number of schools and local residents also helped pitch in the grass roots campaign.
Back of the recently launched 'Summer in Phuket' initiative it's good to see businesses cooperate and start to loop in greater numbers from different sectors. The island which has tourism as its number one industry is starting to stand up and be counted implementing initiatives which hopefully will assist in spurring longer term recovery. We look forward to more sustainable and longer reaching developments back Phuket becoming more environmentally friendly and laud those pushing forward on these types of programs.
