Look our national and legacy airline carriers as a convergence between leading low cost carriers AirAsia and Jetstar looks to level the playing field. Taking on the initial strategy of pooling ground and passenger handling, ongoing maintenance and procurement are a first step in growing synergies.

Further alliances targeting a growing emphasis on scale, which will improve financial profitability, are reportedly in the works. AirAsia currently operates 85 aircraft with 60 destinations and Jetstar has a further 60 planes in service.
