Buddha Ban Sought

On the heels demonstrations in Jakarta over the iconic chill chain Buddha Bar's outlet, police in Phuket have been on the lookout for commercial establishments who display Buddha heads in an inappropriate manner.

While certainly in Indonesia the Buddhist population is small here in Thailand the use for the image continues to be widespread be it interior furnishings, quasi art work or those small giveaways you find at every tourism market.

Perhaps a more respectful treatment could be similar to sea shells, for visitors to the country come and see the temples but leave them untouched and take home the memory or picture instead of the object.
