The Government has announced that Red Shirt leaders which has been reported in the local media as including Jatuporn Promphan, Kwanchai Praipana, Natthawut Saikua, Wiphuthaleng Phattanaphuthai and Nisit Sinthuprai have turned themselves and surrendered to police.

A clearing operation in the area is underway in the heart of the commercial and shopping district in Bangkok including Lumpini, Sala Daeng, and Rajprasong. Protestors are being allowed to leave the area and free transport is being offered to their provinces.

A number of dissatisfied protestors have formed into mob groups and according to new reports set fires in the area including Central World Shopping Mall and Paragon.

Despite the outbreak of violence, the main gathering area and stage have been cleared and with the isolation of the leadership now done, the pathway to political solutions can begin. Of most concern now is the level of street violence and arson which is the last gasp action of the remaining fringe elements.
