An earthquake registering 7.6 has hit Western Sumatra in Indonesia just after 5 pm today. A tsunami alert has been issued for Thailand, India, and Malaysia along with Indonesia according to CNN. Phuket is currently on alert. Local residents and tourists should keep updated on any developments or announcements though news sources.
