India continues to be a rising star for Thai hotels and the effect can be felt on the resort island of Phuket.
According to comments by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) over 10,000 Indian travelers visited the island in Q1 2010, which tallied up to a 100% increase over figures from the same period in 2009.
With continuing air access through the new Thai Tiger joint venture airline and high profile Phuket Bollywood type mega weddings gaining high profile media coverage, India looks to be gaining momentum as a long term sustainable source of tourism revenue.
