In something akin to the merger of the tribes on the TV serial Survivor, Red Shirt demonstrators have moved from their Phan Fa rallying point and have consolidated their forces at the Ratchaprasong area according to media reports.

The strategic location amidst the capital's high end shopping malls and luxury hotels, who have endured considerable commercial damage for an extended period of time. Businesses and tourism have virtually taken hostage in the continued dispute between the Democrat led Government of Abhisit Vejjajiva and the UDD 'red shirt' movement.

The shift and amalgamation look to great a potential showdown with Ratchaprasong becoming taking on the role of unwelcome host. Political, business and social interests look set to collide, with all eyes now focusing on what is seen as the epicenter of the conflict.
