Bali Airport Expanding For 17 million Passengers

The resort destination of Bali is seeing a USD208 million upgrade of the Ngurah Rai International Airport.

A staged expansion is planning with early work completed by 2013 and the ultimate passenger capacity increased to 17 million by 2020.

Nearby a newly located Lombok International Airport is set to open this year which will be able to accommodate wide body aircraft.

Previously Seleparang Airport had limitations for only regional aircraft to land.

A double dose of potential airlift to the Greater Bali area is expected to fuel growth
