It's like that classic line "I call it tomato, you call it to-mato" but here comes the country with two names.

Be it Burma or Myanmar, branded or rebranded, shaken or stirred.

The AEC or Asean Economic Community initiative is continuing its goal by 2015 of no import tariffs and simplistic direct investment in the member countries of Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Brunei, Cambodia, Laos and Burma (or Myanmar).

For economists and entrepreneurs the country poses a great question mark as once political stability occurs and a free market approach takes place a veritable gold rush for businesses is likely to occur.

For many the question posed is this the next Vietnam phenom?

Thailand continues to develop increased trading ties as seen in the recent announcement of a mega project combining an industrial estate and deep sea port in Dawei.

As for common wisdom there remain mixed camps of those slowly dipping their toes while the remainder are huddled on the sidelines.
