AirAsia has made a bold business decision in creating a regional operating base in Jakarta Indonesia.

The airline is creating an entity AirAsia Asean in order to tap into the catchment of over 600 people in Southeast Asia.

A strategy is meant to draw the airline close to the ASEAN secretariat, which is located in the capital city.

There continues to be much speculation over the updating 2015 date for implementation of the AEC (ASEAN Economic Community) indicative but certainly some significant organization are creating a long term plan to capitalize on the free trade agreement.
