The reasons why an increasing number of expatriates choose to call Phuket home is reflected in HSBC's recently released "Expat Explorer Survey 2010."

Thailand has topped the leading global financial institutions comprehensive research document which focuses on three main leading indicators - economics, experience and offshore offspring.

Another feature of the report is on the retiree or 'silver expats' segment which has expanded metrics and statistics. According to the data 24% of expats who come to Thailand view the destination for retirement.
