Another high rise (well relatively high by island standards) has hit the market The Light Suan Luang in Phuket town. Looking to attract a growing younger working set of Thai's and foreigners pricing points are from THB 1.3 million.
With 12 stories offering 186 condo units in configurations of studio, one and two bedroom units this is now the second large offering in the city back of the recently launched Supalai project. Expect Phuket to attract more Bangkok listed property companies in the near future who are looking to expand both high and low rise residential developments.

Bill Barnett responds:
Thanks for clarification as project is underway, am sure permits follow code.
I thought there was a maximum height restriction of 23m for building condos in Phuket. How has this developer able to build effectively up to 45m high?
Bill Barnett responds:
Looking at restrictions in Phuket town we are seeing 7-8 story buildings which fit intro the building code presently. There is zoning in Phuket and the EIA process for approvals of heights,so if the process has been approved would assume its in compliance.
