Leading Eastern Seaboard medical facility Bangkok Hospital Pattaya is undergoing a THB220 million expansion according to the Nation newspaper.

Upgrades for the 300-bed hospitality include the ICU, pediatric and Lasik facilities.

Some interesting stats in the piece saw usage of44% usage by foreigners with Russians at 21% of the foreign demand, and Brits 13%. Other significant sources were Scandinavians, French, Americans, Australians and Germans.

Resident expats stood at 60% and the remainder being tourists.

Pattaya is continuing to grow its infrastructure and becoming a competitor to Phuket.
