Longtime Phuket businessman and founder of Lynx Real Estate Eric Tomlin passed away in hospital yesterday in Bangkok. Hailing from Leicestershire in the UK, he worked for 25 years piloting commercial airplanes with Hong Kong as his last stop before moving to Phuket in the mid 90s.

Always known for working long hours, and leading a dedicated and hardworking lifestyle he grew the Lynx Management Group over a number of years into a leading island property business.

He is survived by his wife Suchana Chaloemtoem (Koong) and two daughters.

We just found out from this website Eric is no more. We stayed there a couple of years ago in Panwa for nice relaxing vacation which we had. Then for the years following Eric was a big support for our company at the time to spread wings in Thailand.

We miss you, Hans, Ellen and Kim

As Eric's ex sister in/law I am very saddened that no mention has been made in any of the comments of Eric's first born children in the UK, Neil and Vivienne who are so saddened,as I am by his death. My heart goes out to them at this very sad time.

Very sorry to hear the news. I shared a house with Eric more years ago than I care to remember when we were both young pilots in BEA. A Great Guy.

My condolences to his family

We were all very saddened to hear of Eric's passing. I was only speaking to him a short time ago and though he said he was in hospital he gave no indication of the seriousness of his condition. My sincere condolences to his family, friends and staff. David Wade and everyone at Tropical Homes Real Estate.

The world has lost a lovely man. I’ve know Eric since I arrived in Phuket in 2005 and I’m proud to say we became close friends. With Eric’s sharp and dry sense of humour he constantly teased me about my Welsh heritage. I was fortunate to meet with Eric before I returned to the UK in April and over a cup of tea and cigarette we laughed and joked. I also spoke with Eric only a week or so ago while he received treatment in hospital and once again, although very sick, he teased me. I know his family, especially his two beautiful daughters, will be deeply saddened and I want to send my love and best wishes. Love James, Khun Su and Jeanna X

We heard from Skall and Bill newsletters that we lost Eric on 21st June. We at the OMT Groups are very sorry to hear that.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all who loved him, and given the kind of person he was, there are many. Our thoughts are also especially with the condolences wishes to Khun Kung and family. We will miss his patience and his joke and laugh not any more at the future Skal dinners and other Phuket major events. RIP my friend .

There is so little I can say about such a tragic event andthe South of Phuket will not be the same without Eric.

His wisdom and guidance were always there to the benefits of all.

We all loved listening to his jokes and stories when he was a pilot.

He was my dear next door neighbour in Ao-Yon and I will deeply miss meeting him and our discussions about promoting Ao-Yon and Panwa, and his lovely family.

I am sure we will never forget him and his actions and beliefs in Phuket tourism and it should unite us.

My deepest condolences go to his family in the UK and his wife Koong and his two lovely daughters in Phuket.

Dear Eric, may you rest in peace.

I knew Eric well and had many dealings with him over the 13 years I knew him. He was a gentleman and family man and my thoughts are with his family today. One of the first professional business men on the Island.

RIP Eric, you will be missed.
