New Krabi development The Pelican has taken Bangkok by storm with a high profile media, adveristing and sales campaign.
From full page advertisements in the Bangkok Post, to interviews in the national press and a six day showcase at the upscale Siam Paragon Mall, Brand Krabi is everywhere in the market.
Highlighting entry pricing from THB5 million and free trips to the site, it's a clearly taking aim at the domestic property sector.
With 96 condos, 50 villas and a resort of 140 rooms comprising a 40 rai mixued use site. According to an interview the development which launched in March has 30% sales or 29 units (over 7 units a month), and Thai's accounting for 60% of transactions.
Phuket could do well with some similar upscale promotion for it's real estate inventory.
