Middle East owner IFA Hotel Investments have been quoted in the press saying they are targeting expansion beyond the current European footprint into Asia with an emphasis on China.
Currently airport properties operate in the UK and Netherlands, with a pipeline broaching into CBD locations including New York City and Abu Dhabi.
Conceptually individual modern yet spartan pods or cabins offer sleep denominated in hours or nights with a limited service environment. All the mod-cons of TV, Wi-Fi are included as is a galley type food and beverage option.
It's a concept that has been around a while from ACCOR's Formula One to those Japanese micro hotels up to today's hot topic TuneHotels.com .
