Emerging Mai Khao beach is seeing the islands newest international branded hotel soft open on March 28 as Renaissance Phuket Resort and Spa debuts. With 180 keys the property is joining a high profile neighborhood with JW Marriott, Sala and Anantara.

The hotel continues the trend with Thai developers making up the lion's share of new supply; in this case Bangkok's Seacon Development is the owner.
