Second International Branded Hotel For Nai Thon

InterContinental Hotels has announced the signing of a new 120 room and 15 villa project under their boutique Indigo brand on Nai Thon beach.

Local Phuket firm Tiansin Property Development inked a deal for the site which is located across the street from the 281 key Pullman Arcadia Resort, which is currently under construction.

The Hotel Indigo Phuket is expected to open in Q2 2014. Expect some confusion as nearby Nai Yang calls the Indigo Pearl home which is independently operated.

IHG's newest brand Hotel Indigo has 38 properties globally with a hotel in Bangkok in the pipeline. In a quest to tap into the upscale boutique concept similar efforts have gone into Starwood's W and Aloft, Hyatt's Andaz and Marriott's Edition business models.

Tiansin which is Phuket owned is best known as a dealer of Mitsubishi vehicles on the island.

Nai Thon beach is expected to experience dramatic changes from what was once an often nearly deserted beach to what is now becoming a mainstream market place.
