The long anticipated proposed Four Season's managed resort development in Laem Ka Yai, Rawai, Phuket has been put into the market by Lehman's liquidators and is being exclusively marketed by Singapore's Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels. The site which is 150 rai, and over 250 meters of beach frontage has been planned for 132 hotel villas and 52 residential villas. Bearing a Chanote title with EIA planning already submitted the site is one of the premium unencumbered land plots in the Phuket market.
During the past few years the on and off again project has been subject to much speculation while the attachment of the luxury Four Season's brand had created a great buzz in the marketplace. While the current economic downturn has created a slowdown in the hotel pipeline this sale is expected to create a great amount of renewed interest in the project. A few years ago the East Coast was still low profile though with the success of upscale projects at Jumeriah Private Island, Cape Yamu and Sri Panwa some of the most expensive villas on the leading resort destination island front onto Phang Nga Bay.
The nearby boutique Taj Exotica on Koh Lon island has a model unit under construction and Outrigger Serenity Terraces Resort near to the Laem Ka site is set to open in April.
