Phuket's Kata Group Expands To Khao Lak

The Phuket based Kata Group will open a new resort in Khao Lak this coming November.

Named Khao Lak Cassaway Resort & Spa the THB1 billion plus project will be the fifth property under the operator's ownership.

Other properties are located in Kata, Karon and Koh Samui. Financing for the resort has been provided by Thai financial institution Kasikornbank.

A number of island hotel owners already have resorts in Phang Nga, and given the increasing tourism numbers Thai investors are viewing Khao Lak with growing interest.
