One of Phuket's most idyllic and pristine destinations Maiton Island Resort is undergoing a three year redevelopment project.

A strategic upscale repositioning with 1 and 2 bedroom private pool villas is being undertaken.

The 65 rai property which is now owned by a Thai group with overseas business interests will be reopening in 2013 with 79 keys back of an international luxury hotel brand.

Maiton is 20 minutes by speedboat from Chalong and is considered by many to be one of Thailand's most private and stunning resort locations with long stretches of white sand and a preserved environment.
