In a statement issued today leading regional tourism organization PATA have slammed Thai Airways International tour subsidiary Royal Orchid Holidays plans for 50% discounted hotel packages terming it "self defeating."
Further stated that plunging prices could see long term impact and possible take up to four years to see average rates recover.
PATA has commended the Tourism Authority of Thailand's "Welcome Back" initiative which is not relying on what it calls a "knee jerk reaction" on pulling down prices.
