And now for some good new… always innovative and always leading the pack Olivier Gibaud's Twinpalms crew have opened an exciting new contemporary outlet called Bake in Cherngtalay near the entrance of Laguna Phuket. Open daily from 7 am to 7 pm this is the second outlet of the same namesake since debuting recently in Chalong after the acquisition of the well regarded Belgian Bakery.

With some of the islands best bread, sweets, breakfast and sandwiches on offer the well located Bake looks set to raise the bar for the neighborhood. I stopped by today and have to say the product is a welcome addition, especially since it's just down the street from my office.

Really great sandwiches - best I have had in ages. A bit more expensive but worth it. Great biscuits and chocolates. Nice friendly staff.

I went to see what all the hype was about and have to admit I was thoroughly dissapointed....220 baht for a fairly basic focacia with ham, cheese, one slice tomatoe and some lettuce. No gourmet dressing or cracked pepper, no decoration or anything special. Lunch for 3 people which included 3 samdwiches and 3 diet cokes was ovedr 800 baht. No thanks, next time I will go to Farang and have a decent meal for less money. Unless they plan to do something really unique or special I cant see how they will survive, good luck though..! Also have to congratulate them on the location..! Was it strategic placement..!

We went to the new one at Chalong last week for bread and to see what it was like, i think these people really need help they dont have a clue what a bakery is they had a few overcooked loaves on the side and a few slices of bread in plastic bags . There were 4 men in the office watching us (as we were the only people there ) and one girl serving . The place looks very nice but they dont have a clue about retail, Good luck anyway you are going to need it

If the bakery is serving quality products like "La Bastogne" in Chalong used to have (Belgian Bakery), then it will for sure attract lots of clients.
