A new luxury beach front resort The Naka is under development in Nakalay next to the upscale Samsara estate.

Private pool villas with one, two and three bedroom configurations with west coast ocean views highlight the project which will open in 2012.

High profile Thai architect Duangrit Bunnag of DBAL in Bangkok is overseeing the contemporary themed resort. He has gained recognition for the award winning Costa Lanta and the Alila Cha-Am.

The developer is the S.T.P. Group run by Phuket businessman Thaveesakdi Phucharoen who own and independently operate the La Flora in Patong, and another in Khao Lak along with the well known Savoey Seafood restaurant.

In Khao Lak the group have a second upscale property Casa de la Flora set to open in April .

La Flora Patong continues to be one of the island's upscale leaders in terms of operating performance and the independent hotel group have made a strong statement about being able to be competitive with branded properties.
