Indonesian based property firm PT Intiland Tbk recently opened the Grand Whiz hotel in Kuta Bali.
Whiz hotels opened their first midscale property in Yogyakarta in 2010 after embarking on an internal chain study for two years.
Another property in Semarang opened late last year.
A rising pipeline of projects includes Jakarta and Balikpapan.
The parent company of the brand Intiland's primary core business is on building townships, medium and upscale residential and mixed use projects in Greater Jakarta and Surabaya.
As Indonesia's economy continues to ramp up, expect more home grown hospitality start ups in the country.
